CAIROS Technologies AG, a privately-owned stock corporation founded in June 2000, was the first to have the idea of tracking the ball on the pitch in order to provide referees with support for their decisions. In December 2007, the magnetic field-based Goal-Line Technology (GLT system) was successfully tested at the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.
Apart from the GLT System, CAIROS also developed VIS.TRACK, a video based tracking system that enables you to evaluate the performance data for all your players and the ball in real time. Valuable data like players’ routes, covered distances, speed, positioning data of the players and the ball are captured and archived. Clubs and federations use these data for their tactical match analysis and media use it as editorial content.
CAIROS currently employs more then 250 people together with the subsidiary company IMPIRE AG. The company’s headquarters are in Karlsbad with a further branch office in Ismaning (Munich).
